SCIò SCIò
Sciòsciò is a kinetic sculpture by The Ladies' Room (Ilaria Bianchi, Agustina Bottoni, Astrid Luglio) designed for Spazio Materiae. Elements in brass, lava stone, hand-cut colored glass, and copper, both oxidized and polished, come together referencing the city of Naples.
The thin metal structure flexes as if under the weight of hanging clothes, while seafoam imprints its texture on the copper surface.
An eye-shaped pendant gleams under the sun. The whole assemblage is counterbalanced by a raw piece of volcanic rock.
Sciòsciò is a domestic amulet in which symbolic elements coexist and balance in an abstract suspended landscape. An homage to the city of Naples, in which nature and artifice coexist in a subtle balance of form and meaning.
